What Training Records Do Insurers Usually Want?
Insurers and brokers usually want evidence that you identify training needs and can show current records for people doing higher-risk work — not a branded product endorsement. Requests often spike at renewal, after a claim, or when you expand into new activities.
Quick answer
Expect named samples: who holds which cards or courses, when they expire, and how you chase renewals. A matrix export plus readable files is a common pack. Exact lists depend on your policy, broker and risk profile — there is no single universal insurer template.
Typical request patterns
- Overview of how training is assigned by role or activity
- Sample certificates for operatives and supervisors
- Evidence of induction or briefing for site work
- Confirmation that expired critical items are not ignored
- Subcontractor controls if labour is supplied
How to respond without over-claiming
- Ask which roles or sites they want sampled.
- Export a dated extract that matches those people.
- Attach files for the rows that matter — do not send an empty colour legend.
- Note genuine exceptions honestly rather than backdating cells.
Honest limits
FieldClear helps you organise and export assigned training evidence. It does not underwrite insurance, negotiate premiums or guarantee cover. Insurer requirements vary — follow your broker’s request. Not legal advice.
