How Long Does Hot Works Training Last?
Hot-works training refreshers are usually governed by company and client policy rather than a single national certificate length. Record the course review date your organisation assigns, keep it separate from each task-specific hot-work permit, and verify provider and site rules before you rely on a date in the matrix.
Quick answer
Use the certificate or attendance expiry your provider and policy set. A current hot-works course does not replace a permit, fire watch or area controls for tomorrow's task. Track training and permits as different requirements.
Training versus permits
- Course completion and refresher date on the worker record
- Permit issued per task, with its own validity window
- Fire-watch and extinguisher arrangements recorded where required
- Client or principal-contractor rules noted for that site
Operational checklist
- Confirm who is trained before allocating hot work.
- Issue the permit under your procedure for that job.
- Do not extend a green training cell into a missing permit.
- Refresh training when policy or client rules require it.
Honest limits
FieldClear tracks assigned hot-works training dates. It does not issue permits, approve methods or certify competence. Verify scheme and provider dates. Not legal advice.
