IRATA Training Records by Level — Not One Rope-Access Cell
Track IRATA levels, independent assessment dates and any company or rescue records you assign. A level 1 is not a level 3. FieldClear does not certify rope access.
- Level recorded, not “IRATA valid”
- Reassessment dates as real dates
- Rescue and company tickets kept separate
- Import the technician list you already keep

Level is the allocation question
Supervised work, supervision and rescue capability sit at different levels. A spreadsheet that says IRATA current hides whether you can actually staff the job.

Reassessment windows are unforgiving
Finding a lapsed technician on the morning of a façade job is expensive. Reminders exist so independent assessment is booked while the window is open.

Quick answer
IRATA training records in FieldClear means tracking each technician’s level, reassessment date and evidence inside a live matrix, plus any extra rescue or company tickets you assign. It does not certify technicians, log hours, or replace IRATA or company rope-access procedures.
Hours logs and cards in different pockets
Rope-access companies already keep hours. The training matrix still needs the level and the reassessment date, because a client pack is not an hours log. Mixing the two in one cell is how a level 1 is sent to a job that needed a level 3 supervisor.
Track levels; log hours elsewhere
- Create requirements for IRATA level 1, 2 and 3 — not one IRATA column.
- Enter reassessment dates from the card.
- Attach card images.
- Add rescue or company tickets only if you assign them.
- Filter by level before allocating a team.
What FieldClear does not do
- It does not certify IRATA technicians or log rope-access hours.
- It does not replace a company rope-access procedure or rescue plan.
- A green cell is not authorisation to work on a rope.
You can keep using Excel. But Excel won’t chase expiries for you.
Excel is flexible, familiar and free, which is exactly why almost every contractor starts there. The limitation isn’t the spreadsheet — it’s that a spreadsheet can only tell you what someone last typed into it.

Plenty of contractors run a perfectly good spreadsheet for years. The question isn’t whether Excel works — it’s whether anyone is checking it the week something quietly expires.

Questions people ask before signing up
Can I store certificates?
Yes. Attach supporting evidence such as PDFs and images to worker records, so the certificate sits alongside the expiry date rather than in a separate folder.
Can I get reminders before certificates expire?
Yes. The system monitors expiry dates and sends reminders in advance. You choose how far ahead reminders are sent and who receives them.
Can I import my existing Excel training matrix?
Yes. Upload an Excel or CSV file, map the columns to workers, roles, qualifications and expiry dates, then preview the result. Nothing is created until you confirm the import.
Does the software tell me which qualifications are legally required?
No. The system helps you track the requirements your organisation assigns. You remain responsible for determining what applies to your workers and activities. We do not provide legal or health and safety advice.
Can I track subcontractors?
Yes. Workers can be recorded as employees, subcontractors, agency workers or other worker types, and you can filter the matrix by type.
Who is FieldClear for?
Contractors, trades and facilities teams that keep a training matrix or certificate register — typically about 10 to 200 active workers. It fits teams replacing Excel for expiry tracking, evidence and reminders. It is not an LMS, not an accreditation service, and not a full HSEQ suite for RAMS, COSHH or equivalent site documentation.
How does the free trial work?
You get 14 days with the full product and no card required. Import your matrix, invite colleagues and see whether it fits how you work. If you do nothing at the end of the trial, the account simply stops.
Your training matrix already exists. Make it useful.
Upload your spreadsheet and turn it into a live view of who’s current, what’s expiring and what needs attention.
