EV Chargepoint Training Matrix for Installers

Track electrical qualifications, manufacturer courses and site-induction records you assign for chargepoint work. FieldClear does not certify installers or notify DNOs.

  • Electrical records distinct from manufacturer courses
  • Workplace and domestic programmes on one grid
  • Client inductions for depot and estate work
  • Import the installer list you already keep

14-day free trial. No card required.

The manufacturer course is not the ECS card

Chargepoint makers run their own training. If you assign it, it needs its own date. Do not hide it inside an 18th Edition cell.

Depots add inductions

Workplace chargepoint programmes often need client or campus tickets that expire faster than electrical qualifications. Give them columns.

Reminders before the install diary fills

Manufacturer refreshers and electrical cards fail on different days. Warnings exist so a booked week is not lost to a lapsed ticket.

  • Separate scheme and electrical dates
  • You choose recipients
  • Files on the installer

How it works

From spreadsheet to live matrix in minutes.

No implementation project. No onboarding calls. Start with the file you already maintain.

  1. Step 1: Upload your matrix

Import your existing Excel or CSV file.

  2. Step 2: We organise it

Map workers, roles, requirements and expiry dates.

  3. Step 3: See what needs attention

Instantly see expired, expiring and missing requirements.

Quick answer

An EV chargepoint training matrix records which installers hold which assigned electrical qualifications, manufacturer courses and site inductions, with expiry and evidence. FieldClear does not certify installers, notify DNOs, or decide scheme membership.

Scheme portals and the office spreadsheet

Installer schemes have their own logins. The office still needs a view of who can be sent to a depot on Tuesday. A matrix that holds the records you assign sits beside those portals; it does not replace them.

Track assigned records; use schemes for schemes

  1. Map electrical qualifications, manufacturer courses and inductions to separate requirements.
  2. Import installers and mates.
  3. Attach certificates.
  4. Filter the named crew before a depot or estate programme.
  5. Complete scheme and DNO tasks in those systems.

What FieldClear does not do

  • It does not certify EV chargepoint installers.
  • It does not notify DNOs or issue electrical certificates.
  • A green cell is not authorisation to isolate or install.

You can keep using Excel. But Excel won’t chase expiries for you.

Excel is flexible, familiar and free, which is exactly why almost every contractor starts there. The limitation isn’t the spreadsheet — it’s that a spreadsheet can only tell you what someone last typed into it.

Plenty of contractors run a perfectly good spreadsheet for years. The question isn’t whether Excel works — it’s whether anyone is checking it the week something quietly expires.

Questions people ask before signing up

Does the software tell me which qualifications are legally required?

No. The system helps you track the requirements your organisation assigns. You remain responsible for determining what applies to your workers and activities. We do not provide legal or health and safety advice.

Can I import my existing Excel training matrix?

Yes. Upload an Excel or CSV file, map the columns to workers, roles, qualifications and expiry dates, then preview the result. Nothing is created until you confirm the import.

Can I store certificates?

Yes. Attach supporting evidence such as PDFs and images to worker records, so the certificate sits alongside the expiry date rather than in a separate folder.

Can I get reminders before certificates expire?

Yes. The system monitors expiry dates and sends reminders in advance. You choose how far ahead reminders are sent and who receives them.

Who is FieldClear for?

Contractors, trades and facilities teams that keep a training matrix or certificate register — typically about 10 to 200 active workers. It fits teams replacing Excel for expiry tracking, evidence and reminders. It is not an LMS, not an accreditation service, and not a full HSEQ suite for RAMS, COSHH or equivalent site documentation.

Is this an LMS?

No. The product tracks workforce qualifications, evidence and expiry dates. It does not deliver e-learning courses or assessments.

How does the free trial work?

You get 14 days with the full product and no card required. Import your matrix, invite colleagues and see whether it fits how you work. If you do nothing at the end of the trial, the account simply stops.

Your training matrix already exists. Make it useful.

Upload your spreadsheet and turn it into a live view of who’s current, what’s expiring and what needs attention.
