Is a Digital Training Matrix Accepted for CHAS?
CHAS reviewers need to see that you organise and can produce training evidence for the people and activities you claim. A digital training matrix is usually acceptable as part of that organisation — provided sampled dates and files stand up. FieldClear is not CHAS and does not accredit you.
Quick answer
Yes, assessors commonly accept well-organised digital records, exports and uploaded files. They do not accept a screenshot of software as proof that every worker is trained. Your answers still need named evidence that matches the questionnaire.
What CHAS-style reviews tend to test
- Whether you can show training relevant to your work activities
- Whether records are controlled and retrievable
- Whether examples are current and readable
- Whether subcontractors are covered in your described process
How a digital matrix helps
It keeps expiries honest, ties files to people and produces a dated extract quickly. That is evidence organisation — the assessment decision remains with CHAS (or your chosen SSIP).
| Helpful | Not sufficient alone |
|---|---|
| Live status from dates | A product logo on a screenshot |
| Named workers with files | A policy PDF without examples |
| Subcontractor rows | “All operatives trained” with no names |
Preparation tips
- Complete the CHAS questions against your real process.
- Prepare sample certificates linked to matrix rows.
- Clear obvious expired critical items before submission.
- Export a pack that matches what you described.
Honest limits
FieldClear helps you organise training evidence. It does not provide CHAS accreditation, pass the assessment for you or decide legal duties. Not legal advice.
