CompEx Training Records for Contractors
Record CompEx by named person and module (or module group) with the completion or validity dates your organisation applies, plus certificate evidence. Clients on hazardous-area work rarely accept a vague “CompEx trained” tick without module detail.
Quick answer
Create distinct requirements for the CompEx modules you assign, enter dates from certificates, attach PDFs, and filter people mobilising to hazardous-area packages. Align refresh timing with your company policy and client rules — do not invent a universal legal expiry in the matrix.
What to capture
- Worker name and employer
- Module code(s) relevant to the work
- Certificate or provider reference
- Completion date and any validity end date you apply
- Evidence file
- Project or site where the modules are required
Operational steps
- List which modules each role may need under your method statements.
- Avoid a single megacolumn labelled only “CompEx”.
- Verify certificates before gate or permit issue.
- Chase refreshers using the same reminder logic as other critical tickets.
- Export named module evidence for client assurance reviews.
Electrical matrix context
CompEx sits alongside ECS/CSCS-style cards, isolation authorisations and site inductions. Keep those requirements separate so a current card cannot imply hazardous-area module cover. When subcontracting specialist packages, demand the same module-level fields you use internally.
Honest limits
FieldClear tracks assigned training requirements and dates. It does not define CompEx scheme rules or certify hazardous-area competence. Electrical contractor pages are operational aids. This guide is not legal advice.
