CISRS Card Expiry Tracking Guide

Track CISRS cards as named requirements with card type, number and expiry, separate from generic CSCS rows and from scaffold inspection training where that is also assigned. Renewals need lead time; a matrix should surface them months ahead of site peaks.

Quick answer

Give every scaffolder a CISRS requirement row with type and expiry, attach a readable card face, filter cards due within your booking horizon, and keep inspection or supervisory qualifications as separate lines when your roles require them. Do not rely on a shared drive folder named “cards”.

Fields worth capturing

  • Worker name matching the card
  • CISRS card type (trainee, scaffolder, advanced, supervisor, etc. as applicable)
  • Card number
  • Expiry date
  • Evidence image or PDF
  • Related scaffold inspection training if assigned to that person
  • Owner who books renewals

Renewal workflow

  1. Set reminder horizons long enough for course and card processing time.
  2. Filter the live gang plus known leavers returning for peak weeks.
  3. Book renewals before the programme commits names to a principal contractor.
  4. Replace evidence and dates together when the new card arrives.
  5. Archive superseded cards with history for assessors who ask why a date changed.

Scaffolding matrix hygiene

Part 1 / Part 2 style training records and CISRS cards answer related but different questions. Keep them aligned but separate so a current card cannot hide missing inspection competence for someone appointed to inspect. For handovers, training records support but do not replace the scaffold handover process.

Honest limits

FieldClear tracks assigned CISRS-related requirements and dates only. It does not issue CISRS cards or interpret scheme rules. Scaffolding vertical and tracker pages help you organise expiry. This guide is not legal advice.
